  1. When I try to connect to SYNC TDI Services by saying "Services" I am presented with a "commercial" describing SYNC services and asking me to register. I recently had problems logging into syncmyride.com, so a supervisor at SYNC Support "rebuilt" my account from the backend. I have only tried to use TDI once since then, this weekend, to get to one of my Memorial Day events, but it isn't working!? To add insult to injury, SYNC Support is closed for the holiday weekend. WTF!? I have checked and rechecked the number associated with my account at syncmyride.com and submitted VHRs as someone at SYNC Support once told my that identifies the vehicle to SYNC services. Additionally, when I request a VHR SYNC says "Please wait while your service is activated." If I recall correctly SYNC doesn't/isn't supposed to say this EVERY time you run a VHR?? Any help or advice is appreciated.
  2. You are correct, 800-304-6099 is the main SYNC Services number. 888-769-2863 is also used any time you update turn by turn directions. The mobile short code is 47962 for SMS messages. These are the numbers I have seen being used.
  3. I am having this issue with my iPhone 3G. SYNC Support says that it is Apple's problem, while Apple is unaware of the "problem". I just updated to 3.0 on the iPhone, so I don't know if that has fixed the problem. However, at this point I am tired of dealing with it, so I am thinking about trying to add SIRIUS to the car. Good Luck!
  4. If you get SYNC to play the song in question (i.e. via the dash controls) then press the Voice button on your steering wheel and say "What's Playing" the SYNC lady will tell you what is playing. Then if you try to mimic what she says, you should get better results.
  5. I too experience this. Like someone else mentioned, SYNC might just not know that it should be "receiving audio" despite the option on the iPhone to change the audio source for voicemail. One option that you might try, and is what I utilize as needed, you can program your mobile number into your phone and name the contact "Voicemail". Then when you want to check your voicemail you can just tell SYNC to "Call Voicemail". You will hear ringing or your answer tone as well as your greeting; during the greeting press star (*) and you will reach your mailbox. I remember when I had my Centro some how my voicemail number that was programmed into the phone got "messed up" so they had to put in the correct number. So you could maybe talk to AT&T about what your number it would be. Hope that makes sense.
  6. This has been an on going problem I have been having since I got the iPhone 3G nearly a year ago. SYNC support seems to be playing the blame game. Saying that it is a problem that Apple has to resolve. With each new OS update that Apple releases SYNC says that the previous OS does not experience the issue (despite the fact I still experience the issue under that OS version). I currently have iPhone OS v2.2.1 and SYNC v1.3; with this combo it seems like the "loss of audio" is less frequent, though that could also be because I am not connecting the two as much, just because I don't want to deal with the hassle. I have been to my dealer numerous times regarding this issue, the dealer's most recent solution is to replace the APIM (which BTW...has been replaced about twice already). I have not heard either way if iPhone OS v3.0 (which is still in beta) and/or SYNC v2.0 improves or corrects this issue.
  7. I also believe Sync will re-Index if the previous index was not successful.
  8. Go into iTunes on your iMac and sort your music by each of the different categories that Sync requires (Track, Artist, Album, Genre, etc) and for any track that does not have this MetaData, fill with something (Unknown Album, Unclassifiable (for genre)) if you dont know what the correct data is. Sync should only sync each time it recognizes changes made to the device. Having an iPod you should only notice re-Indexing after you sync your iPod with your computer. Hope this helps
  9. I think they mean on the dash. Like if you are sitting in the passenger seat the dash panel (on my car anyway) says Focus. I saw the post on SMR you are talking about, but since I wasn't sure so I didn't want to make a post.
  10. Has anyone been experiencing the following issue with your iPhone or iPhone 3G: You are listening to your music via USB, then the audio just STOPS; the display keeps counting but NO MUSIC!?! I called tech support and they said to unpair Bluetooth or disconnect USB and use one or the other, but not both at the same time. Now whats the point in that? To me it sounds like it defeats the purpose of SYNC. If you have experienced this issue, have you updated to version 1.1?? I'm taking my car to the dealer tomorrow (today) to get 1.1 installed, hopefully that fixes my problems. I will let you know if it does.
  11. I would assume that because the Sprint and ATT Centros work, that the Verizon Centro would work as well. Keep in mind you still have to set up speed dials for SYNC to download contacts. This is standard on all Palm OS Devices.
  12. Sounds like an option that could be turned on or off. Similar to Confirmation Prompts, etc. Just my two cents. LOL
  13. I am looking at changing cell services in the next week, I am looking at getting the Palm Centro with Sprint. I know this phone is listed on SyncMyRide and a compatible phone, however, I was wondering if anyone has actually used this phone with SYNC, and if they have had success or issues. Any input is appreciated.
  14. A similar issue is experienced with the Palm 700's and 755's. The work around suggested is while SYNC displays "Call Ended" press the phone button on your steering wheel, this work-around will work, assuming that the call is still active on the phone. Hope this helps.
  15. To my knowledge the new version that might show on syncmyride.com is for those with the Nav System. So you most likely dont need to upgrade; I have the same specs as you: Focus 2008 SYNC (no nav) iPod Nano (3g)
