  1. Did you download the correct version. There is one for nav and one for non nav units. The update is different for each one.
  2. You can buy and install the USB hub. I did, ...but dealer advised that version update is not available. So you might have to do that yourself. I'm going to once I clarify if the nav version is one step and non nav is two step update. Any help on that appreciated. Unfortunate that ford doesn't have this yet for a dealer install. It's a bit risky to do yourself.
  3. Was hoping for some advice on the update from those that have done it for nav equipped units. ...some folks refer to download packages that are two part. Others show only a one part file install in the USB. In other words when the zip file is unzipped it contains an upgrade folder. In the folder is a lst file and a folder named Syncmyride. That folder also contains 4 separate zip files. My understanding is that the folder and the lst file are to be installed in the root directory of a USB stick to be used in the installation. But I'm curious as to how this sets up in a two part process. Only wish ford would release the update so we didn't have to do this on our own.... Any information appreciated thanks.
  4. Thanks for that. I did download the upgrade file and have been hesitating to install it, concerned that it might do something to the car. I have the same make and model as you, except with nav. I was wondering if there was a particular file for mustangs or if it was universal to all sync 3 upgrades. I don't believe ford will upgrade 2016s. If they haven't by now, they are probably not going to. So I will likely take a chance and do it myself.
  5. Maybe the recent CarPlay update? Curious if there are issues doing this sync version upgrade as I was thinking of doing it.
  6. This u tube explains the situation . Seems like a delay. https://youtu.be/-_-5vc3cmT4
  7. I would try to reformat and copy part of the drive. Then test it to see if it works. Sometimes a player such as sync will pick up an error then stop. At that point it might switch back to FM. Sometimes a playlist or a song file will be corrupted and cause such a problem. This may not be a problem for the device that made the playlist or even some other players. I have two cars from different manufacturers and both read the same USB device differently due to their software. Go figure...
  8. I used a Mac program called playlist creator to transfer iTunes playlists to a USB stick. It formats them in a generic way for the sync to read them or any pc for that matter. Playlists must be created in a way that the system can read the playlist instructions. That's why the program is useful . Vlc is another program that can make similar playlists. Once they are transferred , artist, and songs and albums can also work...but only songs can be browsed on sync usb.The issue is really just the way the sync system allows you to browse them and that seems to be a missing feature.
  9. Using a USB stick with playlists does not indicate playlists with Browse button, just songs. However, voice command will find the playlist and play them. Is there any way this can be fixed? Small issue to fix...
