  1. I have a Droid X paired with my F-150 SYNC. I am able to receive, (and have SYNC verbally read), texts but I am not able to reply to any. I receive an error message, but I can't recall exactly what it says right now. I'd be interested in other folks results with text messaging.
  2. I believe it will PAIR with multiple devices, but it will not CONNECT to multiple BT devices at the same time.
  3. I am a new SYNC owner. I happen to have a Garmin GPS also. I am interested to know this ........ If, from Google Maps, I send a destination to my SYNC and it is read properly, does SYNC then give me turn-by-turn directions? And, if it does, what happens to my radio while I'm driving? Basically, I'm asking that if listening to the radio, how do I receive the directions from SYNC? Will it cut the radio in & out (like bluetooth does) or must I drive in silence awaiting turn-by-turn directions? Thanks in advance for your help.
  4. Congrats on your new truck. I, too, am a new F-150 owner. However, keep in mind that this forum is dealing with SYNC and its operation/issues.
  5. My SYNC supplemental guide, provided with my f-150, says the same. Only "canned" reply AND vehicle cannot be moving. My system is NOT a touch system.
  6. I happen to have the Droid X (too early for me to upgrade to Bionic). I tried playing with text messaging and SYNC the other day. What I found was that SYNC would only recognize (and verbalize) NEW text messages that were received while the phone was connected to the SYNC system via Bluetooth. Should you receive a message while out of your vehicle, SYNC will not recognize it as new.
  7. I too have a 2011 F-150 and have no problem at all hearing nor being heard. Everyone I "tested" the volume and clarity with says it sounds GREAT. My mic is located in the headliner.
  8. I happen to use a DROID X from Verizon. Initially, I had trouble at the dealership trying to sync it up. I checked on the web and found a SYNC "chat". The agent I chatted with gave me the following instructions. I did it and it was successful. Here they are ........... (this is copy/pasted from an e-mail to my salesperson)............. I kept pursuing a solution and wound up with a "chat" window with a SYNC person at Ford. He gave me a set of instructions that were slightly different than what we tried and what was in the "user guide". Nothing major, but it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's what he told me to do ............. Press the phone button to access the phone menu Scroll to Add Device and press OK It will say "FIND SYNC" and begin giving instructions. Instead of following the instructions, scroll up or to the left one space It should then say FIND DEVICES Press OK with the phone in discoverable mode, and SYNC will find the phone Select <your phone> from the list of nearby devices and press OK It will ask for a PIN Say the PIN as if you were giving a command. It (SYNC) will repeat it back to you. I used 0000 (--- those are zeros) Press OK Your phone will ask for a PIN number. Enter the same one as above After pressing OK or Enter on the phone, they will attempt to make the connection Once connected, SYNC asks if you want to download your phone book. Continue from there following the prompts on the radio. Set as primary etc.......... I hope this helps you out.
