  1. It is down-right silly. How often do you make route changes or use nav features compared to phone calls and music? I tell it my destination, maybe I look up a POI, but then I set it and go... I use the voice features for music and phone a dozen times during the route... not once asking Nav to do anything more than what it's doing. It's just silly. thx
  2. For the 2009 Escape the fuses are 28 and 39 and sadly it did not help. Talked to the dealer and will be taking it in this week. Up until now, I've been very impressed/happy... ugh.
  3. Just chatted with Ford and they confirmed that if you have the Nav, it kills context entirely. He said I was not the first to complain about this and they are taking note. He also said that he understands and shares the frustration. Nice guy.
  4. I have found that I can use USB or User-Device and both work fine in v1.1 on my '09 Escape, but I am frustrated at having to say USB every time. Previous non-nav units wouldn't make you do this... they'd only make you use the context command if you were switching context (like from USB to Phone, etc.).
  5. I was told it would be an option on a number of vehicles through the dealer this year... the two I recall reading were the 2002-2006 Explorer and the Lincoln Navigator... but I'm not sure if that's available yet.
  6. My first use of Sync was a rental car w/v1 and it was so good that I later bought... but in that system, if I were using the USB to play music I could just hit the voice button and say "Play Track XYZ" and it would play it. If I wanted to make a phone call, I'd have to say "Phone," then wait for the confirmation, and then say "Call Liz." If I wanted to call someone else, I would then simply say "Call Someone Else," not having to say "Phone." Wanting to play USB again, I'd have to say "USB" and then the play commands... Then I bought my 2009 Escape with v1.1 and it makes me say the context EVERY time. If I'm using the USB, I have to say "USB," then after confirmation, say "Play Track XYZ." Same with the phone... it never assumes that since I'm already on USB or Phone or whatever, that I am making commands in that context. It's pretty darn frustrating when you want to jump around between tracks or make a series of phone calls. Anyone else have this experience? Any trick to defeating it?
  7. It worked perfectly for me for 2+ months and I was loving it... now it appears my Sync won't talk to any phones. I'm going to have to have the dealer do something at this point.
  8. It should work well - though I would make sure it's running the latest and greatest of everything.
  9. I have had Sync 1.1 since July when it shipped on my 2009 Ford Escape. My phone is a Sprint Centro running PalmOS. Everything worked perfectly, I'd even gotten around the address book issue and had pushed my entire address book of over 500 records. It was amazing... Then about 2 weeks ago I got in the Escape and it would not connect to the phone. I deleted the pairing and re-paired - which worked - and it failed to connect even after the pairing. I did this more times than I can count. I master reset and factory defaulted the Sync several times... I wiped the Palm and upgraded the OS to the latest patch... I tried another Palm... then a WinMo phone - all will pair, all will fail to connect the first time and every time thereafter. It was working so nice... and w/o one change on my part, viola - it's useless now. Anyone have any thoughts that would be helpful?
  10. It would be really helpful for those of us that listen to books on audio (CD or MP3) to be able to bookmark our progress so we can switch to music and resume our 'reading' later.
  11. What file system are you using on the 250GB? (FAT32, etc.)
  12. The Centro works very well - though it doesnt auto download the address book (only auto downloads the speed dials), you can manually sync the entire Palm address book. All the phone features work well - but the limited BT profile on the Palm doesnt allow for the reading of text messages.
  13. This is not entirely accurate info - there are issues with the 650, but not all Treos... further, I personally have had the 650 paired with Sync several times (rental cars) and know of a Treo 680 user who has paired his. I also read on TreoCentral that the 755p customers who were having issues have had them resolved (if they are on Sprint) via a recent Palm update. I use the Centro and have had total success, even downloading the entire address book (though it was not via the auto-download feature).
