When you are pairing the phone there is an option to reverse pair. 1) Make sure the phone is in discovery mode. 2) When you get to the find sync option on the car instead of pressing ok turn the TUNE knob until the optinon for find devices is on the screen 3) push ok 4) Hit ok again when it finds the phone 5) type in a four digit pin of your chosing. 6) type in that pin on the pop up window on your phone. Hopefully this will allow your phone to pair.

I would try unpairing the phone, and then repairing. Also if you leave your phone on all the time it can create issues like this with the sync. so if repairing doesn't work then try taking the battery out of your phone. save the fuse pull as a last resort. Instead of pulling the fuse you can actually just dissconnect the battery for a few minuets. This puts the car through what is called a hard reset. Somtimes the sync needs a hard reset when the car is brand new.

Yes the current software version is 2.11 and it is a dealer installed update only.

If some of your contacts are stored on the sim card it will not pulled those on to the system. They must be stored on the phone.

Hi I am the technology specialist at the ford dealership I work at and all of my customers love sync services, and I have never had a problem with it understanding either mine, or the customers voice commands. What car do you have and what type of phone do you have? Also next time you are in the car try to use it again but instead of saying a service say operator. This will connect you to a live operator. If this works then your voice commands are working and it understands you. When you tell it a service you must wait for the beep afterward but I've found if you wait just a tiny bit more after the beep then it recognizes the voice command much better. Give this a try and see what happens.

Hi I am the technology specialist at the ford dealership I work at and every now and again I have seen the myford touch system actually lose the navigation system software and wither get stuck on navigation loading, or the navigation corner reverts back to information. My recommendation is take it back to your dealer and have them check it out to see if your edge has v2.11 on it and to make sure the navigation is still there.

I am the sync specialist at the ford dealership I work at and it is great to hear of another dealership providing someone who can address sync, myford touch, navigation, and other technology issues. Here are 5 topics I run into a lot: 1) Why does myford touch seem to be slower with the new 2.11 update? 2) Why does sync not understand my commands? 3) Why doesn't my phone work with text messaging? 4) How come my phonebook will not download? 5) Why does my droid x not display contact names when a call is coming in?

If you go into your navagation settings there should be a units option. I believe it uses the same units that are set for the navagation. If not you might want to check the settings on the left hand info screen next to the speedometer. There is a units option in that screen as well.

Yeah unfortunetly that is they way Apple has decided to have to contacts sent over the iphone 4. The 3g did not do this and the the sync software does not change the format of the contacts it just reads them how the phone transfers them. I am sorry this fix did not work. I'll let you know if I can find another fix for this.

Ok Great! I am the technology specialist at a ford dealership so I can deffinetly help you out. The Iphone 4 automatically saves the contacts last name, first name. You can go into your settings and then go into contacts. There is a setting at the bottom of the page that says display order and then underneath I believe it says save order. You can change both of those to say first name, last name. Once you do this the next time you get in the car it should change them on sync as well. If not delete your phone and then repair it. This should fix the problem. That said I have found after pairing several iphone 4s that they all have a problem working with the phonebook feature of sync. The softwear they use for the iphone 4 somehow save contacts in a different format then the 3g. I have run into many problems where you say one name and you get a complete other name. Then you say the name it actually gave you and it jums to a different contact again. So just a heads up in case that fix doesn't work.
