  1. I replied to your question on your other thread.
  2. Can you receive any Sirius stations when your car is in the garage? Depending on what is between your antenna and the satellite (Garage roof?) you may not be getting a Sirius signal. And that is where the Traffic info comes from too. Just a thought, since I loose the signal just when driving under trees along the road. Sometimes.
  3. Sync 3 ver 2.0 - I see the traffic flow just fine, UNTIL A ROUTE IS PLANNED. Then a fat, blue line overlays the road and the red/yellow/green lines. Happens with either the 2D or 3D display option. My guess is that no one at Ford ever tried it. It has to be entirely software. I wonder if enough people will complain.
  4. Paul, Look very carefully at the addresses that are not found. My son had two contacts, one was mine and the other was from Facebook. The Facebook address gave the "no location found" error. They looked identical. but the zip code of the Facebook address had two digits transposed. Try manually entering the address exactly the same as it is in the contact and see if it can be found. (Too bad you cant copy and paste. )
  5. It has been reported that version 4.1 of the iPhone OS should support full AVRCP functionality. My link
  6. You get the disclaimer screen on start up because you are still following a route. I suggest that you go and cancel the current route, and see if that clears up your ability to enter a new destination.
  7. Come on!! You have never gone Geocaching in your Fusion?? :happy feet:
  8. I just reset my sync this weekend so it's ok now. Next time, I am going to have a second USB drive with just a couple of mp3's on it. I will switch the drives and let it re-index. Then I will switch it back again and see if it does a full re-index. I can't believe that SYNC would remember more than one drive in it's index. So, now I have to wait for the bad playlist error again. Probably will not happen now.
  9. My problem is different, but possibly related. I have about 6 playlists on my USB. They work fine.... initially. Then after a while, maybe several weeks or more, I get an error message each time I try to access one of the playlists. Something like "Invalid Playlist Format". If I disconnect the USB drive, and re-connect it, it does not re-index or go away. If I do a master reset, it completely re-indexes the USB and the playlists are ok again. But the master reset is a pain, because I have to go and re-pair my phone and re-create my "favorites" contacts. But I do not know of another way to force SYNC to completely re-build the index.
  10. Hi Cdub. Musicman's answer is correct. There has been a lot of discussion as to why. Copyrights, etc. The way I look at it is this. Ford has given us several music options to store and play our music. The jukebox is the "Multi CD drive alternative" for people who are computer illiterate and have no other way of playing their CD collection in their car other than only one CD at a time. (Remember the luxury of a 6 CD changer <_< ) For those who are computer literate and have their CD's and other music as mp3's etc on their computers and/or iPods/iPhones/other MP3 players have a couple of options to use either bluetooth audio, USB/Priority cable/Line-in options. The best is the USB Cable since the NAV unit can control the device. Or, you can use a USB Memory Stick or a laptop drive and just put all your music on them. I use this method since I can leave the device plugged in and still walk away with my iPhone in my pocket without hooking it up each time I get in the car. As a result, I have no use for the Jukebox. I tried it. It is slow, but so you are ripping to the HDD while you are playing the CD once, so it's not a big deal. Unless you have a full 10MB loaded and it gets wiped out. But my take on all the options is use the ONE that fits your needs best and leave the other ones alone. IMHO. :beerchug:
  11. Don't forget, "forever" is relative. You are quite right that USB sticks are not forever. Neither are CD's, DVD's, VHS tapes (Even just sitting in the drawer), movie film, etc. That is what backups are for. Don't keep those digital photos on just one DVD. Back em up!! As for Hard drive vs flash drive... I would put my money on the flash drive in the harsh environment of the car. Frankly, I don't know how the HDD in our Fusion Nav Systems can even spin up and be read as fast as it does at 10 degrees F or lower in the winter. And the bumps from driving. And the 120 degrees F in the August sun. Certainly not what your average laptop drive is designed for. And USB flash drives are dirt cheap and come 32 and 64 gb of storage. Totally non mechanichal. I would say they are the better bet for use in a car. BTW - I said "forever" is relative, but I will give the copper wire in my house a rather long life span for passing electricity before it is no good. :beerchug:
  12. Apple has not implemented the prior/next track functionality in the bluetooth interface. I have the same problem with my iPhone using my Motorola S9-HD stereo bluetooth headphones. It's part of the bluetooth specs, but Apple has not implemented that. And when you listen via the bluetooth interface with your sync, it is just a pair of headphones with volume and pause/play functionality.
  13. The iPhone does not support this through the bluetooth interface. It is acting like a stereo headphone. I have one of those too, and the next/previous track function is not there. Hopefully in the new release, but don't hold your breath. It's up to Apple. The iPhone does function fully when connected via the usb port and an iPhone cable.
  14. Glad to hear you can read the manual. I was replying to firecop1 who was asking how to do it. Since you joined in, a couple of questions.... Is the CD/DVD ISO 9660 format? Did you finalize the disc when burning it? There is no mention of compatibility with the laser reader, in the manual, but I have an old DVD player that will not play one of the two types of burned DVD's (I can't remember if it was -R or +R) If you are positive about both of questions being "Yes" maybe you can try a +R disc.
