Did a system reset right away. No help. Have tried 6 different cables. I just wonder if updating sync will even fix my android auto issue. It runs on my phone but not the car

So I just got an escape running v3.0 18093. When I plug in my phone via USB android auto runs on my phone and says connected to the escape. The screen in the vehicle flashes a couple times and tries to display maps, sometimes will show navigation for 5 seconds or so before it flickers again and the suv acts like no phone is connected via USB but my phone still says android auto is running and connected. Please help. It's not a USB cable issue, and I have a flash drive in the mail because wifi updates don't work either no matter how good of a signal I can provide. Again please help
