Generally it is NOT possible to do the "self upgrade" with a USB drive from 3.1.3 to 3.8. It is required that the dealer perform this. You absolutely should not be charged for this upgrade. If your servicing dealer doesn't know, (or care) to honor Field Service Action Number: 12M02, it may be time to find another dealer, and get corporate involved.

Tire Pressure & Battery System Health are no longer updating in MFM on the website or the App. They used to say OK in green, now they are just blank Please, IVT Team, look into this. Thanks !!

I had the exact same experience. Just keep pressing them. I had a Service Advisor who was very knowledgeable about the SYNC software, and understood the requirements and obstacles to get the update working. Be persistent. Getting the IVT specialists here involved will help get things escalated. It DOES work, but finding the right people to ask the right questions (to Ford) may be difficult.

I suppose the IVTeam's same attention is given to this message board as is given to the MFM My Community.

Agreed. I had a similar issue, months ago when, while v3.8 was the latest version, I still had v3.1.3 on my newly acquired Certified Pre-Owned Focus Electric. At that time, owner.ford.com reported that I too was "Up To Date", yet I was missing vital BEV content in SYNC. The previous owner, nor the selling dealer knew there was an updated SYNC version, so I took delivery as is. I expected the car to have been fully updated, and hadn't realized it wasn't. There was lots of "hoop jumping" that had to be done, by me, the IVT team, and a dedicated service advisor for the update to eventually take place. Most of it could have been avoided if Ford wasn't so secretive about everything.

The billion dollars in satellites and GPSr in the car determine the speed of the moving vehicle an the location on the map, NOT the tires.

Just another thought, what version of the Map to you have? The latest is A7, and perhaps includes more routes/roads than you have.

Even my handheld Garmin occasionally locks up when trying to compute. If it loses Satellite, or something, it just needs a power cycle and that fixes it. I'd say this is a rare event with Ford Sync NAV.

Did you turn off the car, and wait for the NAV system to power down, then start it up again?

First of all, you don't NEED to update the maps. Outdated map data will still work. It seems unlikely that you are unable to navigate anywhere. Try just a few streets over from where you are. Does the icon on the map show your current location? Is it correct? You can pick up "last years" maps on ebay for much less than $150. I wish SYNC would be named something unique per vehicle. Perhaps with the last 5 digits of the VIN, or even SYNC-Escape, for example. I have three identically named SYNC devices for my Escape C-Max Focus

For me, v3.8 has been the most stable version yet. I have had zero issues with it on all three of my MyFord Touch equipped vehicles.

I imagine a 2014 is still under warranty
