  1. I use a Mac, and had the same problem years ago. I found out that when you use an USB, the Mac will add two copies of the MP3 files.... one will have the "_" in front, and will not be recognized by the Sync system, and the other will be the actual MP3 file. Unfortunately, the "_" files are at the top of the song list, so they are seen first by Sync and the system will not recognize them. What I did was to plug the USB stick with all the MP3 files on it into a Windows PC and remove the duplicate files with the "_" in front. This fixed the problem for me. Like Muzicman said, you should also check the metadata for each MP3 file to make sure it is correct because that data is used by Sync to show what title, track, artist, etc. That said, I have no problems with MP3 files on my iPod Nano. I've never heard of a Sansa Clip. I suggest you get rid of that thing and get a regular iPod It works great with my Mac and my MKS.
  2. Why do you want to "get to it"? You don't need to. Muzicman gave you the answer. The key point is that whenever you establish a new BT connection with the truck, the phonebook is re-downloaded. So, make whatever changes you want on your phone, and the next time you establish a BT connection with the truck, the new info will be in Sync.
  3. Are these b bootleg/stolen MP3 files, or ones you legitimately bought?
  4. No, uploading pictures must come from a CD, as explained in detail IN THE MANUAL!
  5. Yeah, I can play DVDs in Park in my MKS. As for upgrades, I assume you are talking about the MyFord Touch system. That system uses a lot of new hardware, switchgear, etc. I seriously doubt it will be available as an upgrade for the 2010 models.
  6. Unless your truck has a built in navigation system, using the Sync services costs money through your phone. Maybe you could just have your employer deduct the cost from your paycheck?
  7. You can try to delete it, but frankly I don't think it's possible. You may be stuck with it.
  8. That means your system is up to date. If there were updates available, the website would tell you.
  9. The logo will be in the photo rotation, along with the photos you have uploaded to the Sync system. Based on your settings, one photo will appear for each time you start the car.
  10. I couldn't get it to download either. I spoke to the Sync people about it and the tech said it was not a necessary piece of software. It will be fine if you don't have it.
  11. You need to pair your bluetooth-enabled phone with the Sync system to have that button work. On my MKS, I touch the phone button and Sync's phone menu shows on the display, along with the details of my phone, signal strength, call history etc. I think you need to spend some quality time with your owner's manual.
  12. Here's the phone compatibility chart from syncmyride.com updated as of June 9, 2010. http://www.nsapp.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/sync/usEN/sync_us_EN_iop_1_30.pdf Under carrier Verizon, the LG Env Touch is listed as a "Basic" phone, which means it is only compatible with the most basic of the Sync features. Text features of Sync will not work with that phone.
  13. If you thought about and phrased the question more concisely in the first place, maybe you'd get a better response. It is absolutely true that the speedo readout does show the vehicle speed while the Sync system is in Nav mode, per your original question. If you are asking whether or not the system will show the vehicle speed on the Nav display while in Nav mode, the answer is no. The speedo on the instrument panel shows vehicle speed at all times -- why show it again on the Nav display?. However, in Nav mode, the speed limit of the current road *may* be shown on the display if that information is available in the Sync system.
  14. Yeah, it is. But that's the way technology upgrades work. The MyTouch system uses a lot of new hardware, so that is probably one of the major factors why the upgrades to the earlier systems cannot be made.
  15. Someone posted in another thread here that the latest iOS4 4.01. update (released last week) addresses the automatic playback issue.
  16. Uh, it should be showing on the Speedometer at all times... Maybe I'm not understanding your question.
  17. No, that function is only available through the Gracenote database, which is on the hard drive. It is not accessible when a USB or other device is used to play music. Probably not.
  18. Sure, just set the voice control to confirm your commands. Set the Voice Recognition Confirmation to On in the Main Menu, Feedback settings.
  19. Transit, yes, make sure the car is not running and the key is out of the ignition before you pull the fuse. Note also that the OP had a 2008 MKZ which uses different sync software (1.x) than your 2010 MKZ (likely running Sync 3.x). The OP's fix may or may not resolve issues in your car due to your different system. My suggestion would be to try to pair your phone normally when you get your car and see how it works. If you are having issues, then follow the OP's directions for rebooting the system, including the fuse pull. Good luck.
  20. Some folks have reported that you can boost the Bluetooth signal/volume, and this helps the weak call volume issue. Phones vary on where this adjustment is located, but most report that if you raise the volume *while you are on a Bluetooth call connected to Sync*, it fixes the low volume issue on some (not all) phones. That said, I was not able to adjust the volume during a Bluetooth call on my BB 8830. I've been using a rental 2010 MKZ since my 2009 MKS has been in the shop to fix a headlight. I've noticed they've moved the Sync microphone from the top of the rearview mirror to the headliner to improve call clarity.
  21. Doubtful it will have any of the features you are wanting. Sync was first added to the Lincoln MKS for the 2009 model year. No way an 07 Fusion will have it, or a USB port. My 2006 Lincoln LS had Navigation, and it had a separate CD player in the trunk that was used exclusively for the navigation CD. The data for the system was contained on that CD, which you could upgrade for a couple hundred dollars. Music CDs were mounted in a 6-disc changer in the dash. Navigation in the newer models (e.g., 09 and up) use a 10GB hard disk to hold the navigation data, so a CD and a separate player are not necessary.
  22. Thanks for these updates. It sounds promising. I was thinking of upgrading my 4th Gen iPod Nano to a 32GB iPod Touch with the new iOS4. Can anyone else please verify that this device works with Sync, particularly connected to USB as a media player. I don't use Bluetooth that much. Thanks.
  23. I'm sure they thought about this, but decided against it for obvious safety concerns. Maybe you could ask your dealer if there is a way to set up a second button for you on the passenger door or something?
