tgara
Hi all,2018 Lincoln MKZ with Nav and Sync 3. Its currently running Sync v2.3, build 17109.Ive connected the cars WiFi to my home network, but every time I run the Check for Updates, it never returns an update. Ive also checked my Lincoln Owner account for Sync updates, and it says Im already using the most up to date version as of May 2018.Funny thing is, earlier this week, my Lincoln Owner account said an update to 3.0 was available. I didnt have time to download it then, but when I checked back a couple days later, it was gone. My car has still not updated via WiFi, and is still running 2.3.Given that 3.0 had been available for some time, does anybody have any thoughts on what to do here? Mater Reset as a first step maybe? Thanks for any input. Edited October 21, 2018 by tgara
Multitask
3.0 has been out for a while... it's possible that the 3.0 update you saw before might not be a good one if Ford pulled it. A master reset might help I'm surprised that your 18 didn't just come with 3.0, I know mine did
tgara
Thanks for the input, Multitask. Mine is a February build, which I believe was before Sync 3 v3.0 came out. When was yours built? I would have thought the dealer would have checked for updates when I purchased the car in late April, but apparently not. Tried the Master Reset with no effect. Wifi system still says no updates available. And now it appears that the Lincoln Owner site is going crazy. I'll give it a couple days and see if anything changes. The system is working fine, even with CarPlay on my iPhone 8+, so it may be a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". In any event, when the car goes into the dealer for the next oil change, I'll get this looked at if it has not resolved itself by then. Multitask
I just got mine about 7 weeks ago... I'd have to look, but I'd guess later then yours If you poke around enough, you might find a install file listed somewhere.... but you are right, if it isn't broke don't try to fix it. 8)

tgara
Go to the Lincoln Owners web site and download the update (follow the instructions).. WiFi doesn't work, and never has. https://owner.lincoln.com/ Thanks Bill. You are right, WiFi apparently has been hit and miss for most users. Unfortunately, as I said in my original post, the problem is that the update doesn't show up on my account either. And it's not like I'm a newbie at this... I've been working with Sync, including updates, since my 2009 MKS. However, I think I've made some progress. Apparently, the Lincoln Owner site doesn't play nice with the Safari web browser. I logged into my account using Firefox, and was able to see and download the update ZIP file: JR3T-14G381-AM SYNC3 v3.0). I'll follow the instructions to the letter and try the install this weekend. Wish me luck, peeps!
