Baz57 1 Report post Posted July 14, 2018 Hi there, I'm a bit annoyed by Ford. Got a 2016 Ford Edge EU Specs and was delivered with Sync 2. I expected Sync 2 to be updated to allow the use of Android App but nope. Sync 3 was installed on 2017 Ford Edge in EU. Seems that Ford was not very fair with their European and Aussies customers by delivering cars with outdated Sync 2 until 2017 while US cars got Sync 3 since 2015. (maybe they had a stock of Sync 2 they wanted to get rid off). So can we expect one day an update that would allow the use of Android Auto on Sync 2 or should I get that off mine mind ? (FYI Mazda just release on update of their MZD connect to allow Android Auto and carplay). If not what are the other solutions available ? Does a hack exists ? Have ever tried Easyconnect ? Or Go for a class action against Ford cie for unfair commercial practise in EU and AU? Thanks Won't go for an upgrade kit, too expensive and not available in EU anyway. Multitask 35 Report post Posted July 14, 2018 Sync 3 didn't come till 2017 for most Fords, very few 2016s did... I did the Sync 2 to Sync 3 conversion by getting parts from wrecking yards, installing them and programming it to my car. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

From what I read I just need to change the USB hub? no, why would you need to do that? , you would only need to change it IF you swapped out the hardware for Sync 3. I bought the screen, APIM, ACM and a new HUB... with the programing and labor to put it all in, I think I spent about $500, maybe a tad more... better than the 2100 I've seen.
