hhwpbw 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Is there a known issue with Sync 3 having problems with its navigational system? I am getting repeated Navigational Fault issues on the Touch Screen of my 2016 Edge Titanium. I have been to the dealership and after a two hour diagnostic check of the computer system, they had no answer to what was causing it. The recommendation I got was to disconnect my battery for 10 minutes if it happened again. This is unacceptable. Another strange occurrence is the volume on the audio system will skyrocket upward, on its own, and you cannot adjust downward. You have to turn the audio off. punch-card 6 Report post Posted April 30, 2016 Check this tread out on the MKX website, vttk17a1 posted copies on this site, but I don't remember which subforum it was posted in. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/topic/1167-sync-3-problems-in-2016-mkx-potential-purchasers-beware/ Fortunately for me, I am not seeing this issue on my MKX. hhwpbw 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2016 Thanks punch-card for the link. It appears that there is an issue in the Sync 3 and Navigation....hope Ford will be more responsive than Lincoln. Haven't even had the car 2 months.
Ritmdoc 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2016 Having the same problem with "navigation fault" and walking out the navigation system and the radio. The only way to fix this is to do a master reset or turn the car off for at least a minute or two before turning the power back on. This is it hurts since day one of picking up the car. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes of driving sometimes after 2 hours of driving. The dealership service department has been not helpful in finding a solution. They did replace the car antenna because of some antenna issue that they thought "could be related". Dealer has even reloaded the software to no avail. DanMc85 3 Report post Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Try holding Seek >> (Right) and Radio Power at the same time for 10 seconds to reboot/reset the Sync 3 system without losing any entered data. (Not a master reset, think of it as rebooting your computer. The Sync 3 system is always on, just goes to sleep when the car is off) OR Try holding Seek >> (Right) and CD Eject for 10 Seconds, Stop the Speaker Walk Around in Bezel Diagnostics, Hit Configuration Status, APIM, I forget which off the top of my head but one of the testing settings menus in there has reset navigation and some other satellite thing. I would be able to better say if I was in front of my car.... I spent a lot of time in there installing, testing, confirming programming on a Sync 3 system now working in my 2014 Fusion which didn't come with Sync 3 lol. Newest software version is 1.1 for all 2016 Units (only difference from 1.0 I believe are some voice / language updates) or 2.0 for 2017 units until update publicly given to all existing 2016 units. Sync 2.0 Change log (once released): •Updated voice recognition engine.•Bluetooth phone, media, and Wi-Fi improvements.•Navigation user interface improvements (if equipped).•Android Auto for supported devices.•Apple CarPlay for supported devices with hardware upgrade.
