    Favorites from Garmin to Sync

Hi David. Unfortunately, you will need to manually transfer each address favorite...either by using SYNC verbal commands or typing the address into the NAV system of your vehicle...and then save it as a "Favorite". There is no way to transfer the entire list automatically. Good luck.

    SYNC 1 master reset?

Hi mj. Just for the information of those who read this thread in the future: Where did you find the SYNC Master Reset procedure and when did you try it? 16 hours ago you asked "How do I perform the sync master reset you mention?". You were informed it was in the Owners Manual in the SYNC section. You said it was not there. So you were directed to look at the end Troubleshooting Chart. Now you said "I did try that but did not work for me". Since you did not mention trying a SYNC Master Reset until just now, when and where did you find? In your Owners Manual? When did you try it? Knowing this information can help others in the future.I t will also help others to help you in the future if you provide all information right upfront. Good luck.
  3. Hi bpifer. This is the problem with "upgrading" to SYNC 3.4 from SYNC 3.0, Ford MyTouch, LincolnMyTouch, SYNC 1 etc. There are almost always some type of issue and/or features which do not work properly, and the usual troubleshooting does not work. Since this installation is a third party/aftermarket update to SYNC 3.4 (as opposed to the original factory SYNC installation your car had), there are now too many variables involved. For example, what APIM and hardware did you install? One from a SYNC 3.0 vehicle or a SYNC 3.4 vehicle? Used...new? Did you upgrade to SYNC 3.4 using the CyanLabs website tutorials? If yes, it may be best to contact them. If one carefully reads the caveats that CyanLabs lists, there are certain features which often will not work after a SYNC 3.4 "upgrade" like this. Since you have had this problem from the very beginning after "upgrading", this may be a hard issue to resolve. At this point, if you used CyanLabs, contacting them through Email (or text...if available) may be your best course of action. They have probably seen this problem before and may have a work around.Sorry I can not offer much more guidance, since normal troubleshooting will not work in this case. Perhaps another member will jump in with some ideas. Keep us updated and good luck.

    SYNC 1 master reset?

Hi mj. Happy to hear you were able to find a work around. For informational purposes, the SYNC Master Reset procedure for the US/North America Focus is at the end of the SYNC Troubleshooting section of the Owners Manual. Perhaps it is the same procedure and listed in the same place for the UK Focus. Here is the procedure as listed (again, for the US/North America Focus): "SYNC System Reset The SYNC system in your vehicle has System Reset feature that can be performed if the function of a SYNC feature is lost. This reset is intended to restore functionality and will not erase any information previously stored in the system (Such as paired devices, phone book, call history, text messages, or user settings). To perform a System Reset, press and hold the Seek Up (>>) button while pressing and holding the Radio Power button. Release both buttons after 2-3 seconds. Please allow a few minutes for the reset to complete. After a few minutes has passed you can resume using the SYNC system." Good luck.

    SYNC 1 master reset?

Hi mj. The SYNC reset is an entirely separate procedure, which would be listed in the SYNC section of your Owners Manual, or a separate SYNC Operators Guide, if there is one for UK models. I do not have easy access to the UK manuals. Either way, happy to hear you were able to resolve the problem. Good luck.

    SYNC 1 master reset?

Hi mj. You would need to check your Owners Manual for the SYNC Master Reset procedure for your particular vehicle/SYNC version. And the battery reset procedure would also be in your Owners Manual, as mentioned. If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/ Let us know how you make out and good luck.

    SYNC 1 master reset?

Hi mj. With SYNC 3, there is a battery reset procedure which must be performed after the battery is disconnected, replaced etc. If not performed, certain vehicle functions will be disabled until the reset procedure is performed, or the car sits for a minimum of 8 hours, completely untouched. It is outlined and explained in the Owners Manual. And by "...sitting untouched for a minimum of 8 hours", that means completely untouched. So lock and leave it for at least 8 hours. Do not unlock it, enter it, start it etc. etc.. I realize you have the original SYNC version, not SYNC 3. However, there may be a similar reset procedure for your vehicle. Check your Owners Manual in the section outlining replacing the battery. If that does not work, you can perform a SYNC Master Reset to see if that restores full function. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  8. Hi bpifer. More information would help. You do not mention the model and model year of your vehicle is, what version of SYNC 3 is installed in your vehicle (e.g. SYNC 3.0.xxxxx, SYNC 3.4.xxxxx etc.). Also, how long have you owned the vehicle, and when did this issue begin? Did your phone originally perform properly via SYNC, then suddenly stop working? Or did it never work properly? Can tell you this: If your vehicle has SYNC 3.0, you need to connect your iPhone via cable to utilize Apple CarPlay, play music from your phone etc. You can not play music from an iPhone via Bluetooth with versions of SYNC 3.0. I am not sure why you are having the other volume issues. I would suggest performing a SYNC master reset, then reconnecting your phone. If that does not help, and your vehicle is still within the New Vehicle Warranty period (or an ESP that covers electronics etc.), you should make a service appointment to have this issue properly diagnosed and corrected. Perhaps other forum members may have some suggestions which may help. Keep us updated and good luck.
  9. Hi Muzic. My SYNC 3.0 equipped car can only connect via Bluetooth to one phone at a time. Are you saying both phones (yours and your wife) can connect simultaneously, and both display on the screen being simultaneously connected? And you can answer calls from either phone simultaneously? If yes, perhaps that is an improvement in SYNC 3.4 that is not available with SYNC 3.0.

What version of sync is this???

Hi livuk. The version is what is listed in your photo: F.1.7.1.1...etc. My thoughts are that the "version" listed in your photo is only a placeholder equivalent for "No SYNC version installed", since that is what you are being told by your Ford Dealer, the SYNC update website and SYNC chat. Therefore, it does not "definitely" have SYNC, unless perhaps it is some sort of commercial vehicle version of SYNC, as Multitask mentioned. However, it definitely does not have SYNC 3.4 installed, which is the top version currently installed in most Ford/Lincoln vehicles with SYNC (other than a limited number of vehicles with the recently released SYNC4). What SYNC functions does your Transit have which makes you believe it has SYNC, despite all you have been told by Ford, SYNC chat and the SYNC update website? Also...keep in mind that this "SYNC" forum is simply an enthusiast website, and those of us trying to help are just fellow Ford/Lincoln owners trying to help each other. This is not a corporate Ford run website. At this point, any answers other than what you have already received will probably need to come from Ford of UK/Europe. However, (please forgiving my repetitiveness)...It seems you have no SYNC version in your Transit and therefore can not update it either. If you still believe otherwise, you should make an appointment at your Ford Dealer to have the issue diagnosed and repaired under warranty. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

What version of sync is this???

Hi livuk. A local Ford Dealer states your Transit does not have SYNC installed. So does the Ford SYNC website. And so does the live chat on the Ford site. Therefore, all the information you have provided would lead one to believe (blind Internet diagnosis), that your van does not have SYNC installed (a version of SYNC 3.4. is the latest version of SYNC available in the Ford Transit), and that the company you bought the van from was mistaken when they told you it did. Again, out of curiosity, where are you located? Good luck.

What version of sync is this???

Hi livuk14. You just purchased a new 2021 vehicle, so I would recommend you stop by or contact the Ford Dealer you purchased from, and them why you do not seem to have a SYNC version installed. Out of curiosity...where are you located? If you had SYNC, it would be a version of SYNC 3.4. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  13. Hi gang. There is a new SYNC 3 update available. It is listed as "SYNC v3.0.20204". Go to the Lincoln or Ford Owners website to download. I have downloaded the file to my USB drive and will post back when I have time to take the required 30+ minute drive (instructions state it will take 25-35 minutes for this update). Can also state that the instructions have been made much clearer and understandable for this update. Good luck everyone.
  14. Hi bnewt. The SYNC 3.0 system in your 2017 Explorer can not be upgraded to SYNC 3.3 or 3.4. The update showing as available for your Explorer is likely SYNC v3.0.20204. It is still SYNC 3.0. The only way you could have upgraded your 2017 Explorer from SYNC 3.0 to SYNC 3.3 would be through certain third party websites, which would tell you how to do it in a non-factory approved manner. And if you did that, you would certainly know you did it, since it is not a simple WiFi or single step USB factory/Ford SYNC website update. Yes, your wife's 2020 MKZ would have SYNC 3.4 from the factory. SYNC updates generally happen once a year. Maybe twice if we are lucky. They are not like Microsoft or iOS updates which happen weekly/monthly/regularly. And you will not find any real information concerning what a SYNC update contains. All you will find is general statements to the effect that an update "Will improve the user experience and interface...fix certain bugs...etc. Good luck.
  15. Hi Frog. You do not mention how you are trying to connect the two phones. To my knowledge, you can not simultaneously connect 2 phones via Bluetooth/wirelessly. You may be able to have one phone connect via Bluetooth for phone calls, and connect a second phone via the USB ports for music streaming. Give that a try, if you have not already. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

    Is there new map update....#20

Hi Muzicman. Well, it's not actually important at this point. The available update will be NA 1 19. And if you are not interested in obtaining the update, it really does not matter what version you have now. Good luck.

    Is there new map update....#20

Hi bnewt. To find the latest map update available for your vehicle, check here: https://syncnavigation.com/lincoln/home To my knowledge, NA 1 19 is the latest available (I also just checked). The three previous updates were released around late June/early August of the calendar year. They are described as including available updates through the first quarter of the current year. So if that holds true this year, NA 1 20 will be released around that time and will include available updates through first quarter of 2021. Good luck.

    File Not Found

Hi jj. As Multitask asked, what do you have, what are you attempting to do? More information will certainly be helpful. What vehicle and model year do you have? What version of SYNC and version number (found in SYNC settings)? What are you attempting to do? What have you attempted to do? From where did you download any SYNC files you are trying to install? What instructions did you follow...etc. etc. The more information you provide, the better the chance someone may be able to assist you. Get back to us and good luck.

voice recognition not ready 2016 ford sync 3

Hi NCE. It all gets very confusing...and the deeper we look the more confusing it gets. lol However...for the 2017 model year Fusion, the "Drivers Assist Package" (90A), officially named the "SE Luxury Drivers Assist Package", actually required the "Technology Package", not the "Luxury Package". So you could have ordered it with your "Technology Package" equipped 2017 SE. I know...Oy vey. Good luck.

voice recognition not ready 2016 ford sync 3

Hi NCE. Yes, you are correct and thanks for adding that information. Just checked the Dealers Order Guide again, and now realize I did not read far enough down the options list to see that SYNC 3 was also included in the 2017 Fusion "Technology Package". I also just noticed that "SYNC Connect" is included when the "Drivers Assist Package" (90A) is ordered. To avoid any future confusion for others who may read this thread, I will edit my previous post to add that information. Good luck.

    New SYNC 3.4 update available

Hi gang. I can still access Vehicle Health reports for my 2018 MKZ on my iPhone. Which leads me to hypothesize (only a guess)...Perhaps Vehicle Health Report availability has become a model year available/unavailable issue? Or an issue with Droid phones? Again, only taking in the information we have so far and making an educated guess. Good luck.

voice recognition not ready 2016 ford sync 3

Hi NCEco. Just to avoid confusion for you and others: SYNC 3 was available on the 2017 Fusion. Here is the vehicle/trim level breakdown as to availability: -SYNC 3 was not available on the S model. Only SYNC. -SYNC 3 was optional on the SE trim level as part of the "Luxury Package". EDIT - Also as part of the "Technology Package" and "Drivers Assist Package". -SYNC3 was standard equipment on the Titanium, Platinum and Sport trim levels. Concerning your voice control issue: I would recommend trying a SYNC master reset. The instructions are in your Owners Manual. If that does not work, you can try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes (although that is a band-aid type of fix). If that does not work, then a trip to the Dealer for diagnosis and service may be necessary. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

    Fail to Sync 3 Update

Hi papaoso. You have successfully updated to the latest available version of SYNC 3 for your vehicle. Vehicles that came factory equipped with SYNC 3, such as yours, can not be factory upgraded through/by Ford to SYNC 3.4. There are third party ways to "upgrade" to SYNC 3.4, but they are not approved by Ford and can cause issues for various reasons, such as certain hardware and software incompatibilities etc. In addition, if your vehicle is still within the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty or any extended warranty that covers SYNC/electronics etc., I would definitely recommend against performing any of these third party "upgrades" while still under warranty. Good luck.

    Fail to Sync 3 Update

Hi papaoso. It is extremely difficult to troubleshoot something like this over the Internet, when we can not see what is actually being done and what has happened. Please do not take this the wrong way, but in most cases, the problem is some sort of user error. Whether it is accidentally missing a step in the downloading and/or file setup on the USB, or when the USB has been inserted into the vehicle. We can assume you had your vehicle running when you plugged the USB in, and kept your vehicle running? How long did you give the update to begin before giving up? Are you downloading the SYNC3 update file on a PC or a Mac? If from a Mac, I would recommend trying to download from a PC (if you can), since we have seen a few cases of problems when downloading, unzipping etc., on a Mac The only way to possibly help would be for you to type up every single step you took along the way (from file download to USB insertion), to see if you missed anything or not. It would be tedious for you. And even then, it would be difficult to assess the problem. So my first recommendation would be to print up the full instructions, then download the file new and try again, following the steps exactly. Forget about WiFi updates. Even with an exceptionally strong WiFi signal, they are iffy at best in SYNC 3.
