  2. Is there a way to find the POIS file? Is there a way to add custom POIS to sync 3.4?
  3. On 4/5/2024 I ordered map update A15 (PN GM5T-19H449-AJ) from Ford/HERE for my 2013 Flex. I received, installed, and tested it on 4/11/2024 without any problems. Per Ford/HERE's web site: "This v15 map update (released in 2024) will be the final version released. It will remain available while supplies last." Here is the link to the web site: https://ford.navigation.com/product/Catalog/U-S-AND-CANADA-SYNC-2-NAVIGATION-SYSTEM-MAP-UPDATE-VERSION-A15/sku/GM5T-19H449-AJ/en_US/FordNA/USD

  5. I tried this solution and it still doesn't work. So as long as it works from my phone I will not be worried...
  6. Basically no FordPass apps were ever really developed https://fpcommunity.ford.com/t5/Help/What-do-I-do-if-FordPass-doesn-t-appear-in-the-Mobile-apps/ta-p/72
  7. Thanks for the reply jpohlman, I am on build 20204, I just got off of the phone with Ford Pass and they said the APIM was most likely a new one and that it will no longer have the Pass app on the screen. As long as my iphone has the app and everything is working properly i.e. remote start, lock and unlock doors from the phone then it is working properly and Ford has removed the app for some reason. I am fine with that.
  8. Have you tried downloading Fordpass from the Play Store and connecting to the vehicle? What build of Sync3 are you currently on?

  10. Hello all, I haven't posted here in a while but I have a slight problem. I have a 2018 Ford Explorer XLT with SYNC 3 and this past Janurary I had to have the APIM replaced under warranty, and since then when I connect my iphone I don't see the Ford Pass App under the Apps. It shows Ford Alexa but not the Ford Pass. From what I remember the old APIM it showed the App. Is there something missing? I have not contacted Ford yet, but thought I would post here. Any suggestions would be appreciated...
  11. I feel like I’m hitting my head against a wall… from all of the research I’ve done in regards to upgrading the sync1 4-inch screen in my 2013 Ford Edge SEL, I keep getting to the same conclusion…it seems so risky and COMPLICATED. The biggest complication is that most new aftermarket stereo kits do not support the SEL 4-inch screen upgrade because this model has dual zone climate control which apparently makes this upgrade impossible. I’m also unsure of which modern sync system will work in my vehicle…and they all seem very pricy! does anybody have guidance for me? thanks in advance, Jeremy
  12. SOLVED Sometimes putting a problem into words leads you to the solution. So there is a "Part of a Compilation" in the windows user-accessible meta data too! (I was careful not to select this in the Itunes song info, but didn't know it was in windows too.) So ironically if I choose "no" on all the various artists songs they show up in the correct folder sequence when browsing thru genres on Sync1. Yay!!!
  13. I recently had to retire my 2015 Explorer and took over a 2016 Edge. The original Sync in my Explorer worked fine with my music library on a 32gig USB Flash drive. But there is a quirk using that same drive in my 2016 Edge. The quirk is... I have organized my hundreds of albums into genres on my PC's itunes, and copied them onto my flash drive. (The reason: If I'm in a the mood for Hard Rock, I can explore artists like Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Van Halen, etc. grouped together instead of arrowing down thru my ENTIRE collection alphabetically.) On my Edge, albums that are compilations by various artists ("70's Heavy Metal" or "Grunge Rock") are not listed among other albums in the Hard Rock genre -- only the artists are listed along with ALL the artists in that genre! This is a quirk that probably only I would even notice but it has been how I've searched for music to listen to for years. What's frustrating is that my older Explorer worked with this feature but the newer Edge does not. I've tweaked the metadata on these albums (the stuff I can access with Windows,) but no luck. My Sync1 version is 5.9. I see there's a 5.11 but I don't know how to get it and I'm not sure that fix would be in it anyway. I downloaded an update a few years ago but I'm not sure what version it is and I'm hesitant to mess with it until I'm sure it's good... So... 1. Any suggestions on fixing the Genres/Various Artists issue? 2. How do I identify the version number of the update I downloaded before? 3. Where can I find a reliable version of 5.11? Thanks in advance for any replies!
  14. While you're playing from the device, go to the Sync3 media player app and select re-index, then unplug the device. After the next ignition cycle Sync3 will perform a reindex of the device. This can also be a symptom of the rwdata partition on the APIM filing up, if you are on 3.4.x, this bug got introduced in .22251 and the latest version .23188 fixes the bug.
  15. Are you using MP3s or ? File structure should be Directory named Music in the root And then either an additional path of /Artist/Album/<with the file here> or just /Artist/<with the file here> or /Album/<with the file here> It only loads one album art and that would be named cover.jpg, it would go in the directory with the files, if Sync3 can't find album art it does a best guess from the loaded GraceNotes db. If you use something like MP3tag it will show you the actual tags, what Windows shows is not always a readable tag.
  16. What you have are the symptoms of the rwdata partition filling up bug that got introduced with .22251. If you update to .23188 via a USB you're problems should go away.
  17. That is completely normal. A Sync update won't give you controls that weren't there before. Ford removed the climate screen after the 2016MY on the Fiesta/Focus/Kuga/CMax/BMax & Escape. You can enable it using ForScan in the APIM AsBuilt mode.
  18. Have you uninstalled FordPass and reinstalled it rather than just deleting the vehicle?
  19. This comes down to year and model, the MKZ and Fusion got 5 iterations of free maps with the 1st one being whatever was loaded on the APIM when shipped. Other 2020MY models only got 3 and recently I saw that on some 2024's Ford had cut it to 1. The subscription is based on 1st iteration of the map being purchased, not the calendar date. So if you bought a 5 year subscription to get NA2.22 today you would get NA222, NA223, NA224, NA225 & NA226. If Ford were to drop NA223 a month after you bought your subscription, you would have to fight with them to give you an extra year as these are actually owned by TeleNAV. You also can't switch regions, so if you were to export the car from the US to say Brazil you would have to buy a new subscription.
  20. Hi otmar and welcome to the Ford SYNC Forum. Yes, jpohlman meant "Master reset". Good luck.
  21. Hello. Thank you. Google didn't translate well. Did you mean "Master reset"
  22. Did you do a master reset after you upgraded from Sync 3.0.x to 3.4.x ?
  23. Hello. I'm from Slovenia. I have problems with sync 3.4. Namely, when I leave my Kuga MK2 2017, the screen does not turn off completely. It shines all night. Can anyone advise me?
  24. Ok, here's the problem... 2013 Edge is not Sync 3 or even Sync 2, it's My Ford Touch, the last version for that was 3.10 If your screen is divided into 4 quadrants (phone, climate, audio, NAV/ball compass) or you have a label; "Sync powered by Microsoft" you have MFT. Sync 3 was introduced on some models in 2016 (eg Escape, F150) and other models in 2017 (eg Fusion). Go to the General button on the home screen then hit About Sync If you have Sync 3 lower than v3.2.x the highest level offered by Ford for your vehicle is v3.0.20204. If you have Sync 3 higher than v3.2.x the highest level offered by Ford is v3.4.23188 Now the question, "can I go from 3.0.x to 3.4.x", officially through Ford the answer would be NO. That said you can use Cyanlabs updater at your own risk, just remember that a dealer is not going to be able to troubleshoot a bad upgrade, nor will you be able to pull updates directly from Ford's site as you will no longer be on a supported version.
  25. The other thing to watch with map updates especially is that you'll lose the "Updating System Software" if you touch any of the screen controls while it's running even though it's not done. The last NA2.22 Ford official update actually had a false "you can remove USB" message, the first part of the update only did a few files then the APIM would reboot and continue the update. If you pulled the stick it never gave any message that the update was incomplete.
  26. You'll find a list of stations here for your area. https://hdradio.com/ In my area there is only one HD AM radio station, while there are 15+ FM.
  27. Thanks - ill take a look around see wat i can work out
  28. quick answer going from Sync 2 to Sync 3 has been done.... cost can be 100-and up depending on your budget As far as the doing part, read all the postings here Google Maps and Waze need Sync 3 3.x and that part would depend on what you currently have
